Know any young people aged 16-18 who may be at a loose end over the summer?
Citizens Advice Calderdale are offering young people a chance to improve their employability skills and gain valuable experience whilst making a real difference to people living in Calderdale. We are able to deliver this project thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation for Calderdale through the #iwill project and The Big Lottery.
The latest #iwill research confirms that young people involved in volunteering and social action have significantly higher life-satisfaction and stronger personal networks than those that do not.
Caroline Jones, CEO of Citizens Advice Calderdale says:
“It’s a serious ambition of ours to get younger people involved in our work. We have a range of skills we are willing to share and we want to learn from young volunteers too.
We have a variety of activities to get involved in, including social media and research & campaigns each with the flexibility to decide what you want to do, how often and where you’d like to work.”
Emma Woods Bolger Assistant Director of the Community Foundation said, “The #iwill programme aims to increase overall participation of young people in meaningful social action from 40% to 60% by 2020, with a particular focus on deprived areas. We are working closely with organisations such as Citizens Advice Calderdale to ensure that our grant aid is making a difference locally.”
Why not get a small group of friends and work on a project together?
